Our Story
DESTINED TO MEET & BE ONE
According to ancient legend, an invisible red thread of fate connects those who are destined to meet and predestined to be each other's soul mate. The thread may stretch and tangle, but it will never break.
In September of 2017, in response to hurricane Harvey, we met at a FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) training base in Anniston Alabama, where we worked together as team leaders; co-hosting group meetings and team exercises. Our slightly twisted personalities, ironic humor and sharp wit made us fast friends. While we spent our deployment in two separate states, one in Texas for Harvey and the other in Florida for Irma, we would check in on one another from time to time.
Over the years we served as a trusted confidant to the other; cheering on personal and professional achievements, lending a virtual shoulder during time of sorrow and loss, knowing when to say the most repugnant thing to make the other laugh, and knowing when to stay quiet and serve as a sounding board. From the start our friendship gave one another the strength and resilience needed during time of desperate need and it formed the basis for our happiness in the years that followed, and will continue to do so in the years to come.
